Union Fundraiser: The Wolcott Police Union, Local I.B.P.O. 332 is conducting a fundraising effort via telephone solicitation. The fundraiser will be conducted through May 31, 2012. It should be noted that the agency assisting the Union fundraising effort has offered to pick up checks at the homes of citizens who pledeged a donation. Date: 02/13/2012Event: Wolcott Police Explorers POST 1414 and Prospect Police Cadets with DOC K-9 Team
The Wolcott Police Explorers POST 1414 along with the Prospect Police Cadets attended a Department of Correction K-9 demonstration at the Wolcott Senior Center on 02/13/2012. The DOC K-9 Team brought in 3 German Shepherds and 1 tracking Blood Hound. The handlers conducted a series exercises and demonstrations with the canines on searches and bite compliance. The DOC members also brought in contraband seized by the canines and members of the prison staff. Any Wolcott resident between the ages of 14 to 21 interested in joining the Explorer POST may contact Sgt. Chris Wihbey at the department at 203-879-1414.

Wolcott PD & DEA Prescription Pill Take Back Event: The Wolcott Police Department in cooperation with our local DEA partner will be sponsoring our 3rd Prescription Pill “Take Back”. Come in to Wolcott Police Headquarters located at 225 Nichols Road on Saturday April 28, 2012 between 10 am and 2 pm to anonymously drop off any unused, open, or unwanted narcotics with “no questions asked”. How do I obtain a pistol permit?
Applications for a pistol permit are available via the Records Division at Wolcott Police Headquarters. The applicant must show the Records Clerk a valid CT State Identification (License, ID card, Etc.) so the application delivery can be recorded appropriately. The Wolcott Police Department current has two designated Municipal Animal Control Officer’s (M.A.C.O.). Joe Oiemette is our full time M.A.C.O. 1 officer and Sean Sullivan is our part time M.A.C.O. 2 Animal control officer. They can be reached at 203-879-7620 or 203-879-1414 x 151.
