The Wolcott Police Explorers POST 1414 is open to any Wolcott resident between the ages of 14 to 21 interested in the field of law enforcement. If you are interested in joining the Explorer POST you may contact Sgt. Chris Wihbey at the department at 203-879-1414.

Wolcott PD Prescription Pill” DROP BOX” anonymously drop off any unused or
unwanted narcotics with “no questions asked”- any time day or night. We will properly dispose of the medicines in a “Green” manor and to avoid your narcotic and related medicines from getting in to the wrong hands.

Police Reports are available from the Records Division. The cost per page for copies is $.50. The Records Division is
open Monday 7 am to 3 pm, and Tuesday – Friday 7 am to 6 pm. Additional questions regarding obtaining a police report or other police related correspondence may be directed to Mr. David Valetta or Ms. Rene JonPierre at 203-879-7615.
How do I obtain a pistol permit?
Applications for a pistol permit are available via the Records Division at Wolcott Police Headquarters. The applicant must show the Records Clerk a valid CT State Identification (License, ID card, Etc.) so the application delivery can be recorded appropriately. The Records Division is open Monday 7 am to 3 pm, and Tuesday – Friday 7 am to 6 pm. Additional questions regarding the application process may be directed to Mr. David Valetta at 203-879-7615.
When can I have my finger prints taken?
Fingerprints for gun permits, background checks, and employment are conducted on the following days:Sunday: 9 am to 12 pm & 2 pm to 4 pmWednesday: 10 am to 12 pm & 6 pm to 8 pm
How do I contact an animal control officer?
The Wolcott Police Department current has two designated Municipal Animal Control Officer’s (M.A.C.O.). Joe Oiemette is our full time M.A.C.O. 1 officer and Sean Sullivan is our part time M.A.C.O. 2 Animal control officer. They can be reached at 203-879-7620 or 203-879-1414 x 151. The normal hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8 am to 4 pm.
